A colorful and miraculous adventure

Sofía y sus amigos: El cofre milagroso (2026)
Sofía, Clarita Coquí, and Sapo Sancho travel to Juana Díaz to help the Three Wise Men solve a problem: a letter from a girl named Bella was lost, and they don’t know what gift to bring her. With the help of Lucas, the assistant to the original Three Wise Men of the East, they discover that the twin kings from Juana Díaz—statues that come to life on January 5—found the letter in their miraculous treasure box. In it, Bella was asking for a pair of glasses for her seamstress mother. Moved, the twin kings prepare gifts for both of them, but they cannot deliver them. The three friends take the presents to the Three Wise Men of the East, who finally leave them at Bella’s house, ensuring that her Three Kings’ Day is happy and full of love.

Poems with deep emotions

Pandemia de Sentimientos (2021)
The author, Dr. Gilda M. Rivera Ríos, presents her collection of poetry "Pandemia de Sentimientos", in which she references two significant viruses—two parallel viruses: COVID-19 and grief. Her poems reflect nostalgia, anguish, longing, uncertainty, and desolation. Clearly, grief is the central theme of this collection. The collection is divided into two parts: “Poemas pandémicos” and “Pandemia de sentimientos.” The first part focuses on the emotion of an experience never before lived. The poetic voice laments in the poem “Pandemia de emociones” the violence and abandonment of human gestures: caresses and smiles.

Dr. Gilda Rivera Ríos presents us with 14 stories crafted using the technique known as testimonial literature: memoirs. These stories are set in the southern town of Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, during the 1950s. The author, who also serves as the narrator in 13 of the stories, uses flashbacks to capture memories of her childhood filled with feelings that range from sadness, worry, and compassion to joy and hope, among others. The writer presents these Memoirs through a rich, varied, and interesting range of themes, spanning from extreme poverty, a hostile natural environment, and child-to-parent domestic violence to humor, among other topics of social interest. Additionally, it is important to mention other literary techniques used by Rivera to capture our attention, such as suspense, fear, uncertainty, and humor, among others.
